The Last Avatar Book
Book on Indian Tribes n Culture before they vanish and are forgotten.
Come, let us connect to the roots that were left untouched and have been budding in their own course of time. We have been reading about our deities and our sages, singing their praises through folktales but come, let us closely feel those majestic beings that we have followed all this while. India has been the bearer of diverse cultures and traditions; Come, let us re-connect to these traditions and shape a better future in fair alignment to our past.
The Last Avatar Book is a photographic documentation of 16 traditional ethnic Indian communities by Aman Chotani followed by supporting profiles researched and written by Roohani Sawhney. The book aims to briefly introduce these traditional ethnic communities to the readers. The profiles present an accurate picture of the communities in their local setup, elaborating on their ways of life, social structure, and belief system. It is an attempt to break the stereotypes attached by the mainstream population and bridge the existing gap between them and us.
The motive of this publication is to document the fast fading cultures of these traditional ethnic communities. We cannot stop them from changing but can always try to preserve their true identity for the future generations. It is a dedication to the cultures that have thrived over the years – a tribute to the last of Humanity.
